How to Install Double Roller Blinds
The right installation for a perfect finish
Getting Started
Installing your iSeekBlinds double roller blind is a straight forward DIY project, we’re here to make sure you get it right the first time.
Below, you’ll find clear, step-by-step instructions along with videos showing exactly how it’s done. Whether you’ve ordered chain-driven or motorised blinds, just follow the steps that match your setup.
Installation instructions
In case you can’t have your device nearby to watch the videos whilst installing, we’ve created some written instructions that you can print out and keep with you. These instructions have been written as easy-to-follow steps, as we want to make your DIY installation as simple and pain free as possible.
Double roller blinds are easy to install with basic tools and DIY confidence. Watch the videos on this page for a full walkthrough, then follow the instructions below.

Installation Guide
Follow these steps carefully, based on whether your blind is chain driven, motorised, or a combination. We recommend to start by watching the video that matches your setup.

Unpack & Prepare
Carefully unpack your blind (avoid sharp blades that may damage the fabric).
Check the product label for the room name.
Lay out the blind on a clean, flat surface under the corresponding window.
Identify the control type of each blind (chain or motor) and confirm the bracket positions (male = control/motor side, female = pin end).
If your blind is white, wear cotton gloves to avoid marks on the fabric.

Mark Bracket Positions
Hold the double bracket up where the blind will be installed – use the flat back as a guide.
Mark the bracket screw positions with your pencil.
Use a spirit level to ensure both brackets are aligned.
Double-check that your male bracket is on the correct control side (based on your order).
For outside mounts, mark the bracket positions on the architrave or wall to your measured width.
For inside mounts, the bracket will sit flush with the top inside corner of the window reveal.

Fix the Brackets
Pre-drill holes using a 3mm drill bit if fixing into timber (especially for older homes).
Using a cordless screwdriver, attach the brackets with the screws provided.
If you are mounting outside the frame, slide on the bracket covers before fixing.
Check brackets are level and square. Uneven brackets can cause tracking issues.

Install the Blinds into Brackets
Double roller blinds must be inserted in the correct order:
Install the back blind first (usually the light filter or sunscreen).
Then install the front blind (usually the blockout).
Chain Drive Blinds:
Ensure the flat side of the tube faces up and the chain hangs evenly.
Insert the control side (chain) into the male bracket first.
Then guide the pin end into the female bracket until it clicks.
Confirm the blind has approx. 1.5–2mm of side-to-side "float" between the brackets.
Adjust bracket position or extend the pin if there’s too much or too little movement.
Motorised Blinds:
Make sure the P1 pairing button on the motor is facing forward (for programming).
Unroll about 20cm of fabric before installation to allow for testing direction later.
Insert the motor end into the male bracket first, keeping the blind level.
Guide the pin end into the female bracket until it clicks securely into place.
Do not tilt or force the motor end down—this can damage the motor or cause incorrect fitting.
Combo Setups:
Install each blind following its respective control method (chain or motor). Always install the back blind first.

Add Safety Features (Chain Drive Only)
Stop Balls
Lower the chain-operated blind fully.
Attach the clear stop ball just before the chain enters the control unit.
This prevents over-rolling and protects the mechanism.
For front roll blinds, the stop ball goes on the back chain (closest to the window).
For back roll blinds, it goes on the front chain.
Child Safety Cleat
Ensure the chain is positioned inside the cleat before attaching to the wall
Fix the cleat to the wall or window frame at least 1600mm from the floor with the supplied screw.
Attaching the cleat to a wooden frame or wall studs is best.
The chain should hang down with minimal tension.
Required by law for safety and to maintain your warranty
Don’t remove the warning tag attached to the chain
Final Checks
Test each blind individually: raise and lower to check for smooth operation.
If a blind pulls to one side, apply a small strip of masking tape to the opposite end of the roller tube (under the fabric) to correct it.
If a blind is not clicking in, check the pin end—retract it slightly and try again.
For motorised blinds, follow the pairing instructions in your motor setup video.

Setting Limits – Chain Method
Step One: Wake the Motor
- 1.
Press the Program button on the motor head.
- ○
The light will blink green twice to confirm the motor is awake.
- 2.
If the light turns solid green, the motor is in Remote Control Pairing Mode, not Chain Mode.
- ○
Press the Program button again to turn off the solid green light.
✅ You can now proceed to the next step.
Step Two: Enter Limit Setting Mode
- 1.
Press and hold the Program button on the motor head.
- 2.
While still holding the button, gently pull the chain and hold.
- 3.
Wait until the motor jogs, then release both the button and the chain
✅ The motor is now in Limit Setting Mode.
Step Three: Set the Lower Limit
It is critical to set the Lower Limit first. This allows smart systems to understand open/close positions.
- 1.
Use the chain to move the blind down to the desired lower limit.
- 2.
If the blind moves in the wrong direction, release the chain and gently pull again to reverse the direction.
- 3.
Once at the desired position, quick press the Program button on the motor head.
✅ Blind will jog to confirm the lower limit has been saved.
Step Four: Set the Top Limit
- 1.
Use the chain to move the blind to the top limit position.
- 2.
When in position, quick press the Program button on the motor head.
✅ Blind will jog to confirm the top limit has been saved.
Step Five: Operation with Chain
- •
Your limits are now set.
- •
Gently tug the chain to move the blind to the upper or lower limits.
- •
Pull again to stop the blind at any position.
This provides an alternative manual control method, perfect for guests or users without smart access.
Connecting RollerIQ Motor to Matter over Thread
Your motor will arrive with the Matter module pre-connected.
Step One: Enter Pairing Mode
- 1.
Quick press the Program button on the Matter module chip.
- 2.
The green light will flash four times, pause, then repeat — indicating Matter over Thread pairing mode.
- 3.
Open your smart home system, select Add New Device, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Ensure your Thread Border Router is nearby and active.
Matter Module Troubleshooting
- •
If the green light is blinking constantly, you are in Bluetooth pairing mode — not used for smart home integration.
- ○
Quick press the button to exit Bluetooth mode.
- ○
Quick press again to re-enter Matter pairing mode (green light flashes four times with pauses).
Factory Resetting the Matter Module
- •
Press and hold the Program button on the Matter Module.
- •
Observe the LED sequence:
- ○
Flashing green
- ○
Slow amber blink
- ○
Solid amber
- •
Release the button once the light turns solid amber.
✅ The module has now been factory reset and is ready to pair with a new Thread network.

Blind won’t fit into the bracket:
Double-check the control side is going into the correct bracket (male side).
Retract the pin end by twisting the clear plastic cog counterclockwise.
Blind rolls unevenly:
Apply masking tape (approx. 5cm wide) to one end of the roller tube to correct the alignment.
Chain feels tight or breaks:
Check that the blind has adequate float (1.5–2mm).
Ensure brackets are level and not pinching the roller.
