The right installation for a perfect finish

Installing your iSeekBlinds linked roller blind is a straight forward DIY project, we’re here to make sure you get it right the first time.

Below, you’ll find clear, step-by-step instructions along with videos showing exactly how it’s done. Whether you’ve ordered chain-driven or motorised blinds, just follow the steps that match your setup.

In the Box:

Step-by-Step Installation

Start by watching the video that matches your blind type. Then:

Installing Linked Blinds 

Your linked blinds consist of two blinds, each with independent control.

With your blinds, you will have received:

2 x male bracket

1 x intermediate bracket

Hold the male brackets in position on either end of your window frame where they will be fixed. Using a grey lead pencil, mark where the screw holes will go.

Your intermediate bracket should be positioned exactly at the point you marked when measuring – usually over the centre of the window, door join, or mullion.

Pre-drill the holes for each bracket if required. This is particularly recommended in older homes to avoid splitting timber, and for outside mounts.

Using a cordless screwdriver, fix all brackets securely into the window recess or architraves.

Always install the left-hand blind first , as it features the larger pin end designed to fit into the intermediate bracket.

Start by inserting the control end of the blind into the male bracket on the left.

Before installing, check that the chain hangs evenly from both sides and that the chain guide is facing down. If motor ensure the flat section is facing down.

Hold the control end in position and move to the opposite end.

Push the pin end into the intermediate bracket using your finger and slide the blind into place.

The blind should click in easily and securely with 1mm clearance.

The second blind (on the right) has a smaller metal pin end designed to link into Blind #1.

Start by inserting the control end of the blind into the male bracket on the right.

Before installing, check that the chain hangs evenly from both sides and that the chain guide is facing down. If motor ensure the flat section is facing down.

Hold the control end in position and move to the opposite end.

On the metal pin end , retract the pin by turning the clear plastic cog/wheel in an anti-clockwise direction.

Present the blind to the intermediate bracket and align it carefully to the centre with the pin end of Blind #1.

Turn the wheel clockwise to release the metal pin so that it slides into the pin end housing of Blind #1. Ensure you have approx. 1mm clearance.

Once installed, the blind should have a 1.5mm – 2mm gap (called the ‘float’) between brackets to allow smooth operation.

If the blind feels too tight or doesn’t roll properly, check bracket positioning and adjust as needed. You can also extend the pin end slightly for a better fit.

Important Notes for Motorised Blinds

No ball stops or child safety cleats are required for motorised blinds, as they are completely cordless.

Once installed, you’ll need to pair your remote with the motor or smart home.

Lower blinds fully and install stop balls to prevent over-roll

Attach child safety cleats securely with the screw provided, ensure the chain is not too tight

Required by law to comply with safety standards

A Pelmet adds a polished finish to your roller blind and helps reduce dust. Watch the video for a full walkthrough.

Install the spring-loaded brackets level to the architrave or wall. The brackets can sit 150mm from the outside edges to ensure a secure fixing. This can be adjusted if necessary

Attach the pelmet to the spring-loaded brackets provided with slight tilt motion.

Your roller blind brackets are already installed inside the pelmet

Once the pelmet is up, simply click your roller blind into place as per above instructions inside the pelmet.

Always hold the motor end when installing and keep blind level at all times.

Step One: Wake the Motor

✅  You can now proceed to the next step.

Step Two: Enter Limit Setting Mode

✅  The motor is now in Limit Setting Mode.

Step Three: Set the Lower Limit

It is critical to set the Lower Limit first. This allows smart systems to understand open/close positions.

✅  Blind will jog to confirm the lower limit has been saved.

Step Four: Set the Top Limit

✅  Blind will jog to confirm the top limit has been saved.

Step Five: Operation with Chain

This provides an alternative manual control method, perfect for guests or users without smart access.

Connecting RollerIQ Motor to Matter over Thread

Your motor will arrive with the Matter module pre-connected.

Step One: Enter Pairing Mode

Blind won’t click in: 
Retract the pin end slightly and try again. Always install the control or motor side first. 

Blind rolls unevenly: 
Use masking tape to correct the roll direction. 

Chain feels tight or has broken: 
If mounted outside adjust bracket to allow for 1.5mm float from left to right. 
If inside mounted the blind has been measured incorrectly and installed too tight inside the reveal. See our trouble shooting videos. 

If chain has broken at the position of the stop ball, then due care was not taken when lowering the blind and subsequent damage has occurred. 

Cleaning your blind: 
Wipe gently with a soft, neutral coloured damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive rubbing. You can also use a vacuum with brush attachment.
