A double curtain setup requires approx. 180mm depth
Step-by-Step: Measuring for Double Curtains
1
Choose Your Mounting Style
Ceiling Mount (Top Fix):

Both tracks are mounted directly to the ceiling

Clean, seamless floor-to-ceiling look

Sheer and blockout tracks installed in parallel (separate tracks)
2
Measure the Width
Ceiling Mount:

Measure wall to wall

Deduct both cornice widths

Subtract an additional 20mm (10mm each side) for clearance
Ceiling Mount – wall to wall
3
Measure the Drop
Ceiling Mount:

Measure from the ceiling to the floor

Take three measurements – left, centre, and right

Record the shortest drop
Ceiling Mount Drop
Wall Mount (Face Fix):

Tracks are mounted using supplied double bracket sets

Brackets are pre-spaced to support both tracks at correct projection

Ideal for layered curtains over doors, windows, or roller blinds
2
Measure the Width
Wall Mount:

Measure from wall to wall or the full width you’d like your track to span

Subtract 20mm for clearance
Wall Mount – Wall to Wall
Wall Mount – Window Width
Mike's Tip!
Deduct 20mm from your total width to allow 10mm clearance on each side. This ensures a perfect fit.
3
Measure the Drop
Wall Mount:

Measure from your intended bracket fixing point (just under the cornice) to the floor

Take three drop measurements – left, centre, and right

Use the shortest measurement
Always measure in millimetres (mm).

Choose Hand-Drawn or Motorised Curtains
Hand-Drawn:

Up to 10,000mm wide

1–4 panels (equal or custom widths)

Optional wand control: 750mm, 1000mm, 1250mm, 1500mm
CurtainIQ Motorised:

Tap or Smart options

Battery powered, wire-free, DIY-friendly

Stack options: left, right, or centre

Choose motor side for centre opening
Mike's Tip!
Choose your stack direction before ordering – it determines how your curtains open and how the motor is installed.
Note: Centre opening motorised curtains require two motors – one for each panel.
5
Select Your Track & Brackets
Track Style:

Sleek, square-profile design in black or white

Suitable for ceiling or wall mount

Tracks over 3600mm are supplied in two joined sections
Ceiling Mount:

Tracks are installed separately in parallel

Allow 180mm total depth
Wall Mount:

Includes double wall brackets to hold both tracks

Allow 180mm total projection
6
Step 6 – Choose Your Curtain Finish
Drop Finish Options:

Touching the Floor

Off the Floor: approx. 10mm shorter

Puddled: approx. 20mm longer (sheers only)
Hem Style Options:

Overlocked Hem (for blockouts only)

80mm Hem

Lead Weight Hem (for sheers only)
Mike's Tip!
Overlocked hems help to reduce flaring at the bottom of blockout curtains for a cleaner fall.
7
Label Each Window
Start at your front door and move clockwise around your home.
Label each window with its room name (e.g. Bedroom 1, Living Room) to stay organised during ordering.
Mike’s Measuring Tips

Use a steel tape or laser for best accuracy

Measure every window – even if they look identical

Record in millimetres (mm)

Clearly mark Width and Drop

Deduct 20mm from the width for clearance – wall to wall & ceiling mounted

Don’t make any other deductions

You’re measuring for the track, not the fabric
